Our Care & Services
The Care We Provide
Careful planning has ensured that care and personal attention is available to all residents at all times. We have embraced the “small group home living” concept to provide special accommodation and care in small units of seven to fourteen rooms.
Experienced nurses and care staff provide 24-hour care. All care staff receive comprehensive in-house training, as well as attending any relevant study sessions run by the local health authority or other outside agencies. Security and safety are of the highest standards. The home is equipped throughout with a staff call system, smoke detectors, fire alarm and emergency lighting system.
All bedding and towels are provided and personal laundry is washed on site. Daily newspapers are delivered by prior arrangements. At meal times, residents are offered a choice of dishes, which are prepared using local produce whenever possible and snacks are readily available. Food is of a consistently high standard and menus are rotated regularly. Special dietary requirements are easily catered for.
We are able to provide the following types of care:

The Food
Food is freshly prepared daily in our 5 star rated kitchen. There is menu choice available daily and residents are able to ask for alternative options if preferred. The homemade steamed puddings, pies and crumbles are delicious! We cater for specific diets, such as gluten free, vegetarian, high protein, high calorie/low calorie, soft diets, pureed diets and support residents with their meals. We are also able to care for residents with special feeding requirements and our nurses are trained to administer feeding via PEG or other enteral feeding means.
Our Facilities
The home is well equipped with facilities to care for residents of all nature. These include a hairdressing salon, and a chapel where a service is held weekly every Monday morning. The entire home is completely wheel chair accessible, and has a lift for residents to use. Furthermore, the home also has multiple secure gardens for it’s residence to relax in the warm wether. There are also kitchenettes available for residents to use if they wish to cook a snack for themselves in between meals. All resident bathrooms are extremely accessible and contain disabled toilets and baths / showers.
Our Activities
We provide a wide range of activities and entertainment for our residents to ensure they’re kept active. Activity staff are employed Monday to Friday to ensure that residents have plenty to do to stimulate both mind and body! A Day Centre is run at the premises every Tuesday and Thursday where many of our residents like to spend the day playing games, partaking in quizzes, arts and crafts, enjoy music and sing songs. Along side this, we also get entertainment from an external company at least twice a month. We also have “fun days” where we celebrate days such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Bonfire night and Royal events (such as weddings).
In regards to activities outside the home, we provide outings monthly to the shopping centre, Scotsdales nursery, Cambridge horticultural gardens, Duxford Air museum, and to Felixstowe during the summer months. In addition, we also work closely with the local schools and Churches and join them for various community activities.

Our Rooms
The majority of the Rooms are single en-suite facilities; all tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. All bedrooms have a washbasin, TV, telephone points and a window overlooking the pleasant but secluded garden. We allow residents to bring their own furniture (space permitting) and mementos from home. We also allow pets with prior arrangement. The rooms have been purpose built to give maximum comfort to our residents. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to view the home then please feel free to get in touch with us.
