We endeavour to provide an outstanding service to our residents. We therefore, never stop working to improve our care and service. The mission of Symonds home has always been to ensure that we offer the absolute best care possible to our elderly community.
Meet the Manager
I have worked within healthcare for over 20 years. I started out my career as an auxiliary nurse in 2000 in a community hospital in March, Cambridgeshire. I worked there for a number of years and then undertook my nurse degree and gradually progressed into management. I was keen to join Raveedha Care for their ethos and reflecting my own values in ensuring the residents are promoted to lead an enriched and positive life. From beginning my career as a carer to now registered manager, it has given me a lot of respect and appreciation for the hard work and dedication my team provide daily and this helps me to support and grow them as individuals.
My favourite part of the day is when I know I have made a difference to a resident; whether this is a laugh or smile or have brought joy with an activity and seeing them happy is rewarding. I love to change people’s lives for the better.
Outside of work, I have 3 children, a partner and a dog and we love spending time together, being outdoors and exploring nature.
– Ellie Kemp, Home Manager
“My mother had an extended stay in hospital and could not return to her own home. In hospital she lost a third of her body weight in a matter of weeks, wouldn’t eat and was extremely distressed. She was discharged to Symonds House and within days was calmer and accepting food. Now, three months on, she is able to feed herself, and eats with relish. The staff at Symonds House, from the manager to those responsible for washing and cleaning, are unfailingly kind, friendly, professional, and efficient. The nurses and carers are affectionate to my mother, whilst remaining respectful. They are also hugely supportive to me. I had some very frightening days watching my mother deteriorate and it was hard to accept that she would need dementia nursing for the rest of her life. She couldn’t be in better hands. I never thought I would enjoy spending time in a nursing home, but there is always laughter and the staff are so welcoming. They genuinely care for and care about their residents.”
