Welcome to Symonds House

Symonds House is a lovely 58-bedded red brick Grade II listed building. The Dual Registered Nursing Home is set in its own grounds in Linton, a thriving village 10 miles south of the City of Cambridge.

The majority of the rooms are single with en-suite facilities. All are fully carpeted, tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished. All bedrooms have a wash basin, T.V and telephone points and a window overlooking the pleasant but secluded garden. Residents may bring their own furniture (space permitting) and mementos from home.

Security and safety are of the highest standards. The Home is equipped throughout with a staff call system, smoke detectors, fire alarm and emergency lighting system.

Careful planning has ensured that personal attention and care is always available to all our Residents. We have embraced the small group home living concept to provide special accommodation and care in small units of seven to fourteen rooms.

Experienced nurses and care staff provide 24-hour care. All our care staff receive comprehensive in-house training as well as attending any relevant study sessions run by the local Health Authority or other outside agencies.

All bedding and towels are provided and personal laundry is washed on site. Daily newspapers are delivered by prior arrangements. At mealtimes Residents are offered a choice of dishes, which are prepared using local produce whenever possible, and snacks are readily available. Food is of a consistently high standard and menus are rotated regularly. Special dietary requirements are easily catered for.

The local Health Centre provides good medical cover as well as access to the specialist services of the local Hospital Trust. The services of an Optician, Dentist and Chiropodist are arranged as necessary, and the hairdresser visits twice weekly.

There is a chapel on site and services are conducted once a week. Activities on site are provided by staff specifically employed for this, and outings are arranged. In summer the residents are encouraged to sit out and enjoy the grounds of the Home.
